Domeij Printing Press!

It is finally here! My very own beautiful Domeij Printing Press!

I have been so lucky to be in the right place at the right time to stumble over this printing gem. It only took two very strong and helpful men (husband and dear friend) to move it and get it into my studio... I didn't do the heavy lifting but I can assure you it was heavy...

It took a while to clean the whole printing press and polish the press bed but when I was finished the bed shined beautifully! I also bought new press blankets so now this "little" gem looks almost brand new! But most importantly it runs like a charm!

I need new printing plates, especially larger sizes now when I can print larger. I have tried plates from IB Wahlström so far but I am keen to try the monotype plates from Takach Press. There is probably no difference when it comes to the application of ink on the plates but I am more interested in the longevity of the plates. 

I will put large monotype plates and a large hand inking roller on my birthday wishlist this year and maybe I will get even more lucky!
